Any 60 Minutes fans out there?? Have you heard about ChatGPT?
On March 5, 2023, 60 Minutes did a segment on ChatGPT, Bing, and artificial intelligence apps. If you didn’t see it, I have included the link to the segment here. http://bit.ly/42awMTq
You will see at about the 7:10 minute mark, the AI app was put to the test to create a bio for Lesley Stahl. The point of the exercise was to show how the text provided might be flawed, and it was. I did my own bio, and that, too, came back with some inaccuracies.
The moral of the story is yes, this is sexy and intriguing, but it is not, and should not be considered a silver bullet. We still need to think and edit appropriately. As with most new and innovative products, we will need to work out the bugs. I am embracing it – with caution.
